Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Associate II for the Department of Schizophrenia Research at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.
Under the direction of the Division Director, the Research Associate II is responsible for research activities within the Division of Schizophrenia Research. The primary purpose of this position is to participate in and oversee a grant funded research program aimed at preventing the development of substance use disorders.
Oversees and manages the day-to-day activities associated with a state funded grant, designed to provide a novel suite of interventions aimed at preventing the development of substance use disorders in children with conduct disorder.
Manages, organizes, ensures the completeness and conducts analyses on study databases.
Administers and scores interviews and assessments with adults and children.
Aids in participant recruitment.
Generates, compiles, and presents statistical data with appropriate conclusions and recommendations pertinent to research project(s).
Assists the Division Director in the preparation of research proposals to obtain grant support from federal, state, and local units of governments as well as foundations.
Communicates with study partners including, but not limited to, Barnabas Health Institute for Prevention, Fair Lawn, Keyport, Howell, and East Orange School Districts, and various stakeholders from the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
Minimum Education and Experience:
PhD. degree in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Medicine or equivalent in a relevant science, or a Master’s degree in a relevant science, plus three years of related research experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience recruiting, interacting with, and interviewing adults and children.
Experience administering and scoring cognitive, self report, intelligence, and neuropsychological assessments.
Experience working in a therapeutic capacity with children with serious behavioral difficulties.
Experience conducting and interpreting statistical analyses.
Experience publishing scientific manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
Experience working with administrators in the professional and academic professional spheres.
