Reviews actual P&L performance against plan and forecasts future reporting periods. Analyzes sales, bookings and expenses, including actual margins achieved in shipments, and forecasted margin in backlog.
Prepares and provides reports and commentary on revenue, expense, profitability, inventory, project, cost center, and other miscellaneous cost analyses (actuals, budgets, forecasts and variances). Prepares and distributes various internal reports – including but not limited to daily shipments, daily bookings, order fulfillment, and backlog.
SAP Key User for CO (Controlling) and FI (Finance). Responsible for chart of accounts, cost centers, SAP reports, project and internal order administration, work order administration/closings, product costing, material cost of goods sold, and other cost accounting functions (like allocations, assessments, etc.)
Supports validation and accuracy of inventory including excess & obsolete inventory. Runs WIP settlement and material burden adjustments. Identifies causes of excess & obsolete inventory and recommend corrective action.
Reviews and calculates company rates (hourly production & engineering, MOH, etc.)
Supports compliance to government contracts/projects - including preparing ICP’s and supporting DCAA/DCMA reviews and audits. Assists with maintaining company’s government approved accounting system and rates.
Assists in rolling BOMs and ensures correct material pricing.
Provides financial analysis and support for bids & proposals and project developments.
Serves as a liaison between R&D project managers and A/R group to ensure proper & timely billing of milestones on customer developed projects.
Supports external and internal audits.
Requirements & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting/Finance.
At least 7-10 years progressive Financial Analysis experience in mid-size company.
Strong SAP experience especially with FI, CO and Project module and Inventory, and with data mining and running reports.
Strong knowledge of Excel and extensive experience with "If" logic, functions such as lookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and filtering/sorting large data sets.
Government accounting experience a plus. Including but not limited to familiarity of DCAA approved accounting systems, direct/indirect rate pools & DCAA audits
Must have strong demonstrated analytical skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
