Initial 6 month contract based in Birmingham starting in Jan 18
IFRS 16 is an IASB standard on Leases which requires to be implemented by 1 January 2019, the role holder will perform the below activities for this project. The role holder will functionally report to the IFRS 16 Project Manager.
The PMO plays a key role in Global Finance, supporting change initiation, design and delivery. The role holder manages the Project Management Office to provide effective plug in support for programme management as part of a specialised and centralised service model.
The Manager - PMO will:
Manage PMO activities as assigned across Finance Change, including portfolio reporting to senior leaders.
Manage programme financial reporting to senior leaders.
Set the approach to programme governance and reporting, and define and implement the associated PMO processes, tools and methodologies, in alignment with Group Change Delivery standards.
Manage tracking and analysis of management information for larger, more complex projects or programmes or sub function portfolios to focus senior leadership attention, inform decision making and effectively manage issues and risks.
Act as the custodian of Business Transformation Framework (BTF) standards and methodologies for the project or programme, driving adoption and providing assurance on BTF compliance for portfolio reporting to the Group Change Committee.
Ensure the team meets performance targets that are aligned to Finance Change objectives.
The Manager - PMO operates at an executive level and engages and influences a wide spectrum of stakeholders and partners across the business, especially Finance, HOST and Risk.
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Relevant professional qualification preferred such as IIBA or Prince 2
Proven and progressive PMO or project management experience within IFRS 16, leases or a similar environment.
Experience of using Clarity, CA Workbench, SharePoint (desirable but not essential)
Proven leadership track record in dynamic environments, with the ability to support & direct teams with diverse backgrounds and skill-sets, both locally and offshore and to maintain a global perspective
Excellent analytic and problem solving skills
Some portfolio management experience desirable but not essential
Strong leadership, management, decision-making, and interpersonal skills including the ability to listen to and influence stakeholders at all levels, and to build consensus among a wide range of internal and external customers with conflicting priorities
Proven ability to provide expert leadership to continuously improve PMO practice
