The University of Tennessee Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) has an opening for a Coordinator I position (Training & Development Coordinator). MTAS is an agency of the University of Tennessee Institute for Public Service that provides technical assistance, training and research for Tennessee towns and cities, state government, and municipal government related associations. The MTAS Training & Development Coordinator's purpose is to design, develop, coordinate and conduct MTAS training programs. The position coordinates logistics of delivery of MTAS statewide municipal training programs, recruits qualified facilitators/instructors for specialized instruction, and/or course development, and is responsible for the marketing activities of Training and Development Team courses. The Coordinator develops curriculum through the application of instructional design and adult education principals and teaches MTAS training courses to municipal officials, municipal employees and MTAS employees across the State of Tennessee. The individual in this position also develops and instructs MTAS internal training courses to include development and instruction of Train the Trainer courses, implementation of new technology courses, and course facilitation skills for subject matter experts.
