Under direction, the Development Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the fundraising activities and objectives of assigned University Development team. The Coordinator will manage and implement cultivation, fundraising, and stewardship events and activities that support development objectives.
The Coordinator will work with Advancement, University Development and unit colleagues and supporters to ensure success of events and stewardship programs. The Coordinator will manage all administrative duties as assigned, develop and maintain donor-related reporting processes, oversee prospect management and tracking and will be responsible for all associated communications.
Maintain liaison relationship with Marketing and Communications and Advancement's Offices of Donor Relations, Donor and Fund Stewardship, and Prospect Development. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional, to provide comprehensive coordination and management oversight of moderately complex and / or medium-size events.
Must have access to reliable transportation.
Must be able to work periodic overtime as necessary to complete the routine duties and functions of the position.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and practices of event planning and public relations, including event design, organization and production.
Demonstrated skill in effectively meeting budget and time constraints.
Proven organizational and project management skills to work successfully with clients to produce high quality events that meet client needs and appropriately represent the campus for fundraising events. Skills to provide excellent donor stewardship.
Highly developed judgment, decision-making and problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills, including skill in determining those issues/problems that need to be brought to management's attention.
Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices of volunteer recruitment, supervision, motivation and evaluation.
Experience maintaining a high standard of productivity within a broad scope of responsibility despite frequent interruptions. Ability to complete large volume of diverse tasks efficiently, meeting established deadlines.
Knowledge of crowd management, crowd safety protocols, security and emergency procedures related to small, medium and large scale gatherings.
Ability to effectively work with invited guests, donors, government officials and university VIPs.
Ability to give clear directives and use independent, rational judgment to make optimal decisions. Knowledge and skill to set and monitor work standards and protocols.
Proven ability to work on several tasks simultaneously. Skill at responding effectively to priorities and setting deadlines.
A Bachelor's Degree in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
