This individual will be responsible to establish, mandate and implement standard policies, procedures and best practices across the company to promote compliance with applicable laws and contractual obligations. This is an evolving position within our Compliance Team supporting Agent Distribution for our Medicare Supplement and Supplemental Hospital Indemnity Insurance and is a unique opportunity to be part of creating compliance protocols, policies and procedures for one of the fastest growing parts of our business. Primary Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Agent Distribution team, responsible team for supporting our field sales agents, and internal stakeholders to support their understanding and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, contracts, etc.Develop compliance communications and drive problem resolution for a business segment across UnitedHealth GroupReview and analyze state laws, including Medicare Supplement laws and regulations relating to advertising, producers, producer compensation, etc.Monitor changes in requirements to mitigate risks and achieve complianceCollaborate with individuals across all levels of the organizationCoordinate with the larger Sales Distribution Compliance organization to ensure consistency in policies and processes, as appropriateCoordinate and develop reports, projects, and assessment tools to verify complianceParticipate in cross - functional project teams and provide advice and guidance, as needed, to ensure agent activities are compliantEvaluate and assess proposals for new agent initiatives, e.g. electronic capabilities for enrollment methods, implications of proposed compensation / incentive programs, etc. Review agent communications to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance, including announcements, recruitment, training, guides, presentations, etc.Review and evaluate escalated issues, obtain information as needed, and determine appropriate resolutionAs needed, assist to update agent contracts, including compensation amendmentsAssist with monitoring the process for engaging our legal organization to request cease and desist letters, as needed
Required Qualifications:Undergraduate degree and / or equivalent work experience of 4+ years in a government or healthcare environment with experience in complianceStrong problem solving skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsSuperior oral, written communication and interpersonal skills Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the Medicare Supplement insurance industry and the regulation of Medicare Supplement Insurance Experience in the regulation of, and compliance for agents/producers Experience in a regulatory / compliance environmentParalegal experience Careers at UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement.
