This position will develop and maintain strategicinternational student recruitment planning, marketing, and communicationefforts. Responsibilities include:
Serving as Designated School Official (DSO) andAssistant Responsible Officer (ARO) to the Department of Homeland Security andthe Department of State, including the issuing of I-20/DS2019 documents andmaintenance of SEVIS records.
Providing F-1 immigration advising tointernational students regarding status, compliance, and benefits.
Developing and maintaining foreign credentialevaluation system.
Coordinating international student financial aidawarding policies; collaborating with Financial Aid and Admissions to ensure100% compliance with federal laws regarding international students and ensuringstudent packages are completed promptly.
Maintaining and overseeing policies andprocedures governing the F-1 student program.
Advising the college of international studentrelated issues with regard to Department of Homeland Security and Department ofState regulations pursuant to maintaining international students' immigrationand visa status.
Serving as a campus liaison with U.S. foreigngovernmental sponsors, external foundations and agencies, and the University ofTennessee system.
Collaborating with Student Affairs, PublicRelations, and other key stakeholders to promote and advance internationalprograms, alumni and international student recruiting.
Working with international students to ensurepositive adjustment to new surroundings, demands of studies, social activitiesand integration, providing recommendations on counseling services and otheravailable support.
Representing international student admissionsinformation at recruitment events, high school and college visits.
Developing recruiting materials, promotionalvideos and social networking site; monitoring, updating and changing webcontents.
Developing and coordinating an internationalstudent orientation program for new international students.
Assisting the Executive Director with theoperations of the UTC International Office.
