Description: Oversees market research efforts to contribute to the development of long-term strategic marketing initiatives and audience-specific integrated marketing and communication plans for the organization; oversees RSNA social media presence and uses channels to support organizational marketing priorities; provides leadership for content strategy and governance.
Strategic Marketing and Research
Oversees market research function, analytics, and measurement for marketing programs and services, including:
Gathering, maintaining, and analyzing RSNA statistics across the organization for use in developing marketing activities.
Conducting post-analyses of all activities for use in reporting to the organization and informing future marketing recommendations.
Guides research and analysis to shape long-term strategy for organizational marketing and strategic planning initiatives.
Works with Marketing Strategy team to develop and maintain a market segmentation strategy.
Uses demographic and behavioral information to understand key audience segments, market positioning, brand development, future trends, and strategic direction. Advocates for RSNA customer personas for use in marketing planning, and acts as a resource for educating the organization.
Oversees RSNA social media strategy and presence. Works closely with Manager: Social Media and Marketing Coordinator to direct social media efforts in support of organizational marketing priorities. Uses social media as a tool to gather market research and customer insights.
Works closely with Manager: Social Media on developing content strategy, content marketing initiatives and overall governance for content use at RSNA. Aligns content to meet customer engagement goals.
Works closely with Assistant Director: Marketing Strategy and Marketing Managers. Supports Marketing Strategy team by providing research-supported input on key marketing messages that align with the goals, target audiences and brand. Provides insights on promotional copy and materials as needed.
Works with marketing leadership on the integration and tactical implementation of the RSNA brand and guidelines both internally and externally to all constituencies.
Contributes to the implementation of marketing plans, programs and/or projects, including creation of strategy, development of program benchmarks and analysis of program outcomes. Guides timelines for and manages market research and social media projects.
Bachelors' degree required; MBA preferred (concentration in Marketing, Communications, Market Research or Business preferred).
Minimum of 7-10 years relevant professional experience in marketing environment in a supervisory role.
Experience leading or overseeing market research efforts and translating results into actionable insights.
Successful history of developing effective customer-centric marketing strategies.
Excellent strategic thinking abilities.
Strong track record of building and leading effective teams.
Experience developing and maintaining a content strategy.
Excellent knowledge of social media platforms; experience using social media as a market research tool.
Experience with marketing events, trade shows, and/or non-profit/membership organizations.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills with acute attention to detail. Excellent editing and proofreading skills.
Strong project management skills with the ability to assess processes and implement change to improve quality and efficiency. Experience establishing and managing budgets and timelines.
