The Military Advisor/JST Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the plan to standardize Joint Service Transcript (JST) evaluation and credit awarding for active military and veterans applying to/entering Syracuse University. JST evaluation and advising is essential to the success of military-connected students enrolled in residential and online undergraduate programs. The Military Advisor/JST Coordinator will ensure that uniform standards are used to award credit based on military service and that students are awarded the correct amount of credit for their military experiences, based on the documentation that students provide. The Military Advisor/JST Coordinator will assist current and prospective active duty and veteran students to evaluate academic transcripts, JSTs, and American Council on Education (ACE) transcripts for appropriate credit awarding. The Military Advisor/JST Coordinator will maintain the system created to record and track JST credit award/transfer decisions, and participate in strategic planning specific to active military and veteran student support.
