Under the supervision of the Athletics Director and in close collaboration with the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and the Director of College Marketing and communications, the Senior Associate Athletics Director will serve as the lead for all revenue generation and external communications and marketing for the Holy Cross Athletic Department. The Senior Associate Athletics Director will be a fundraiser, marketer, unit manager and the chief external strategist. This position has the primary responsibility of increasing financial support to and extending the brand and messaging of Holy Cross Athletics through a number of activities including: private philanthropy, corporate support, ticket sales, marketing efforts and strategic communications.This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics, and serves as a key decision-maker and integral participant in the administration of the Athletics Department.This position includes oversight of many athletic departmental operations including team development and continuous improvement efforts through the use of key performance indicators.The Senior Associate Athletics Director will oversee al aspects of the planning, implementation, execution and measurement of the athletic department's external initiatives. The position will also have sport supervision as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Major Areas of responsibilities:
Responsible for creating, meeting, and exceeding revenue generation and external communication goals
Design and implement fundraising initiatives and strategy for the athletic department and individual teams in concert with the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations
Design and implement marketing and communications initiatives and strategy for the athletic department in concert with Director of College Marketing and Communications
Overseas all external operations of the athletic department with responsibility for motivating and leading the external team to achieve all activity and dollar based goals
Direct and execute a strategic media and communications plan to leverage exposure through television, internet, social media, and digital media
Utilize emerging technologies, generate strategies and key initiatives to engage, cultivate, and communicate in new ways to audiences on behalf of Holy Cross Athletics and the College
Promote a positive image of the intercollegiate athletics program and the College by participating in community and professional organizations and representing the College as a spokesperson at donor events, professional meetings, campus committees and in community activities as appropriate
Represent the athletic department at relevant campus and affiliated conference meetings
Oversight of athletic department interests in licensing and merchandising in collaboration with the College's Auxiliary Services
A Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred
A minimum of 7 years of experience of demonstrated professional success and relevant corporate or collegiate athletics experience in revenue generation is required
Experience in athletic fundraising with a keen understanding of the collegiate and athletics culture is preferred
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations governing donor/student-athlete relationships and related functions
