Responsible for supporting the performance of the financial, business process and information systems audits and special projects to assess the existence, effectiveness and efficiency of the business controls, financial information, and compliance with laws and regulations. Primary Responsibilities:Assist audit management, execute internal audits including audit planning, detailed audit procedures and related testing and reporting in accordance with professional and departmental standards - including financial (i.e. Sarbanes-Oxley testing) and operationalPrepare clear, accurate and complete work papers in accordance with department quality standards; meet project timelines and deliverable due datesIdentify audit issues and perform root cause analysis with practical corrective solutionsAs necessary, perform follow-up on assigned audit report action plans to ensure that the business partners have completed agreed upon actionParticipate on special projects undertaken by the department and/or the Company
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree1 or more years of relevant business experience (may be internal audit, controls, accounting, and/or applicable business process audit experience)Preferred Qualifications: 2 or more years of accounting or auditing experienceExternal audit experience is a plusUnderstanding of internal control concepts and their practical application Health or related insurance experienceSarbanes-Oxley, MAR, SOC experienceAudit, assurance or risk related certificationSoft Skills:Strong interpersonal skills while working effectively with a teamStrong oral and written communication skills Desire to make a positive impact with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities Careers with UnitedHealthcare.
