Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Director provides financial consulting and strategic support to internal customers and stakeholders in the business, driving continuous improvement to deliverables and processes supporting these customers. S/he acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making. This position requires someone with a positive attitude and ownership mentality who wants to be part of building and positioning the company for growth. Strong collaboration, data analysis and presentation, and process and tool development skills will be critical for the success of this role, along with having the ability to work on teams and independently to execute assigned tasks and responsibilities. Focus on accuracy and consistency of the data and information along with a thorough understanding of the complex relationship between key financial drivers is a prerequisite for this role.
•Works in concert with senior operations management and corporate executives for operational analysis and provides insight and guidance for operational improvements;
•Prepares monthly financial reporting including variance analyses. Able to clearly communicate a cohesive and concise explanation of business drivers using financial data and presenting potential implications on future results;
•Leads and aligns financial forecasts and long-range planning processes with our business leaders. Actively participates in bid reviews to ensure submittal accuracy;
•Drives business value by providing financial and analytical counsel to facilitate decision-making around tactical and strategic business initiatives;
•Develop and maintain an internal control structure that ensures the integrity of information is maintained in the areas of revenue recognition, cash receipts, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting;
•Provide strong leadership in the recruitment, training and development of top quality financial talent to ensure the finance organization has a high level of performance and productivity;
•Comply with Parent Company monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting schedule. Updates forecast as conditions change;
•Manage our Capital expenditure, leasing, and renting strategy for equipment & tools procurement to ensure best value/best performance/utilization outcomes;
•Provide analytical reports to support operations and develop a dashboard for key metrics, performance KPI’s that is user friendly;
•Lead implementation of internal controls as required by Sarbanes Oxley;
•Manages annual budget processes, incorporating business initiatives, economic trends and operational effectiveness. Aligns budgets to business strategies and gains alignment from business partners;
•Performs various profitability analysis and makes investment and pricing decisions. Identifies opportunities to drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and operating cost structures;
•Identifies and executes on process improvement opportunities;
•Participates in monthly review of open projects. Review all areas of project accounting to ensure project estimates are up to date and accurate and that revenue is being recognized in accordance with US GAAP;
•Experienced in a construction environment with a dynamic and fluid cost structure;
•Work with the company President to develop a suite of robust and concise management reports focused on field performance, productivity and efficiency;
•Provide an ‘exception’ based reporting focus to highlight actionable and incisive data points;
•Move the business toward real time data capture and analytics using Microsoft Dynamics ERP system and field based mobile input devices;
•Manage a team of regional commercial (what titles are we talking about) managers to ensure common reporting standards and real-time variance & impact reporting;
•Focus the business towards a ‘forecast’ biased reporting approach;
•Review and improve existing governance and controls around potential areas of leakage (work bids, credit cards, purchasing, vendor selection, fuel cards etc.);
•Introduce a suite of metrics, controls and processes to our fleet, equipment & tools activities to monitor utilization, performance metrics and overall health.

Experience: Minimum of ten years’ experience with at least five years in a senior level finance/accounting position.
