Responsibilities This Financial Specialist position is located in the Financial Systems Branch, Financial Management Division, within the Office of Finance and Administration (OFA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If selected for this position, you will be directing and leading the new travel system implementation at TSA and overseeing the on-going travel system operations which supports a TSA-wide user base. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Serving as the lead financial and travel systems expert providing recommendations and guidance to the management and senior leadership, contractors, stakeholders, and program offices representing TSA on travel system matters. Performing travel systems planning, implementation, deployment, and on-going management with extensive knowledge of the Federal Travel business process. Performing General IT control functions related to the User System Access and Termination of the Federal Travel system and other areas as applicable. Coordinating procurement of new or modifications to the current travel system as well as changes to the current interfaces with the financial system. Evaluating and translating travel regulatory requirements, policy guidance, and complex business issues spanning multiple projects/programs or functional areas. Leading travel systems end user support. Conducting systems administration/access control to ensure only authorized TSA users have access to the travel systems in accordance with DHS and TSA policy and directives. Typically, the lower pay band (I Band) performs the same duties but will receive more guidance and training; and/or projects/work assignments may be less complex. Qualifications To qualify for the SV-I pay band (equivalent to GS-13), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-H pay band or GS-12 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
