Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution, dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, seeks applicants for a non-tenure track, 9-month, full time faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Program in Physical Therapy.
Saint Louis University is a Carnegie R2 (Higher Research Activity) university with state-of-the-art education, research, and clinical facilities, and a current enrollment of approximately 13,000 students 5,000 graduate and 8,000 undergraduate. Faculty are supported by many resources across campus including the Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning and the Office of the Vice President for Research, which has a robust staff dedicated to providing faculty development, enhancing teaching and research innovation and offering administrative support for research. There are collaborative opportunities on campus including existing and developing innovative centers of excellence, and a recent hospital partnership with a large, local, leading health care system where a new $550M Hospital and Ambulatory Care Center are being built on campus which will open in September 2020. Residing in the Doisy College of Health Sciences on the Medical Campus, the Program in Physical Therapy prepares physical therapy practitioners through its entry-level DPT curriculum. The Program's 15 full-time faculty engage in teaching, research and service to the University, profession and St. Louis community. Faculty in the Program in Physical Therapy are committed to enhancing the program's research profile. A current Program research strategic plan, as well as College and University research focus and dedicated resources are present.
Position Qualifications: Required o Academic doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD) or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) with specialty certification o Evidence of content expertise in adult neurology o Evidence of teaching experience o Current physical therapist license in the United States, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands Preferred o American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties board certification in neurology o Scholarship in area of expertise o University level teaching experience
