The Helms School of Government at Liberty University invites applicants for a full-time residential faculty position in the Criminal Justice program.
Successful applicants should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, as well as a competence in coordinating and developing criminal justice programs for the Helms School. Such applicants will be expected to draw upon theories and methodologies involved in criminal justice with a view toward applying them in real-world situations.
The successful candidate will teach both standard and custom courses, such as but not limited to criminal justice writing and research, criminology, constitutional criminal procedure, criminal justice ethics and other courses under development for which the candidate is qualified to teach. Candidate must:
Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering the Liberty University mission.
Maintain records, files, and create expense reports.
Participate in recruiting activities such as College for a Weekend and other events which showcase the CJ Programs.
Counsel students in support of their professional and academic development.
Required: Conferred Ph.D. in Criminal Justice
Preferred: Five+ years of professional field experience
Preferred: Current or previous academic appointment at the university level.
Excellent research, writing, and grammar skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Additional Salary Information: Based on experience.
