Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Population Science department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The primary purpose of the Program Coordinator position is to provide administrative and management support within the Division of Population Science.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides high level administrative support in the management and coordination of IRB activities in the Division of Population Science.
Serves as the division's administrative IRB contact and maintains comprehensive knowledge of University policies and procedures; educates and keeps staff abreast.
Coordinates and assists in the post award functions in the Division of Population Science; such as facilitating and monitoring research subcontracts.
Assists the PI and budget analyst with monitoring research grant budgets.
Assists in the preparation of reports that are submitted to federal, state or other organizations and monitors reporting requirements and deadlines and ensures timely and accurate compliance.
Under the direction of the Program Administrator, serves as a liaison between the division and administrative units, such as IRB, Finance, IT, Office of Grants and Accounting. Responsible for timely follow-up of problems and questions.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science or related field (e.g. Public Health or social science).
Three (3) years of progressively more responsible administrative research related experience, in a university or government setting.
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Outstanding human relations and leadership skills and the ability to function in a team environment.
Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment is necessary.
Master's degree in public health, psychology or epidemiology, plus a minimum of two (2) or more years of progressively more responsible related professional and/or administrative research experience.
