A Pharm.D. from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy and current California pharmacist licensure or eligible for licensure in 6 months, as well as post-doctoral residency training and/or fellowship or equivalent work experience in an acute care specialty area are required.
Experience and proficiency in a wide range of acute care settings is highly desired. Candidates with experience in the acute care specialties of internal medicine, oncology, pediatrics or geriatrics are preferred to supplement existing areas in the curriculum.
For appointment at the Associate Professor level, a significant record of accomplishment in scholarship, teaching, practice and service are required.
Candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to interact with student pharmacists, postdoctoral residents/fellows, and faculty within the university and at the practice site.
A commitment to teamwork, demonstrated ability to conduct practice based research, ability to provide clinical and classroom teaching to student pharmacists and other healthcare professional students, and ability to establish and provide exemplary patient care within an acute care setting are highly desired.
This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and would be expected to:
1. Develop, coordinate, and deliver didactic and experiential education in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program as assigned by the Department Chair.
2. Engage in practice based or other scholarly activities in support of the School’s research and innovation mission.
3. Serve as a student advisor.
4. Serve on School, Department, University and practice site committees.
5. Actively participate in professional organizations and community outreach to promote CUSP.
6. Enhance or develop a practice site as a faculty acute care pharmacist.
