Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, offers innovative post-Pharm.D. fellowships that provide extensive training in the pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical industry. These 1- or 2- year programs are a joint effort between Rutgers and 17 of the leading pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical companies including Acorda Therapeutics, Amgen, AstraZeneca, Bayer HealthCare, Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Catalent, Celegene Corporation, Daiichi-Sankyo, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Health, Johnson & Johnson, McCann Health, Merck, Novartis, Pfizer, Sanofi, TEVA Pharmaceuticals, and The Roche Group.
The Fellowship Positions are available in wide variety of areas including: Business/Commercial Development (US and Global, may focus on New Product Planning, Marketing & Licensing); Business/Commercial Insights & Analytics/Strategy (may focus on Cardiovascular and Metabolism, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Oncology); Clinical Documentation; Clinical Operations; Clinical Research & Development (US and Global, may focus on Early Phase, Late Phase, Infectious Diseases & Vaccines, Oncology, Translational Medicine); Clinical Science & Epidemiology (Global); Clinical/Patient Safety and Risk Management (US and Global); Corporate and Government Customers/US Managed Markets; Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) (both US and Global); Market Access (may be US or Global); Marketing (some specialty areas of Oncology, Early Pipeline); Medical Affairs (both US and Global, some specialty areas of Cardiovascular, Diabetes, Hematology, Inflammation and Immunology, Oncology); Medical/Scientific Communications (US and Global); Medical Information (US and Global; some areas of specialty are Immunoscience, Infectious Diseases, Oncology); Medical Knowledge Management (US and Global); Medical Science Liaison (US and Global, some specialty areas of Cardiovascular, Immunoscience, Oncology); Medical Strategy (US and Global; some specialty area of Immuno-oncology); Pharmacology Translational; Pharmacovigilance and Product Quality & Safety (Global); Promotional Compliance; Product Development and Innovation Global; Leadership (focus on Project Leadership; Innovation, Research and Development); Public Affairs and Advocacy; Quantitative Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics; Regulatory Affairs/Science (both US and Global; focus on Advertising and Promotion); Rx-to-OTC Switch; and Strategic Marketing.
University-based experiences include a Professional Development Series and opportunities for collaborative research, publication, and teaching. These fellowships provide a broad knowledge base in corporate activities and promote the role of the Pharm.D. in the pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical industry.
