The Center for Homeland Defense and Security (CHDS) at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School invites applications from detail-oriented, motivated candidates to coordinate, display, and accurately maintain content and data across its digital environment. Preference will be given for expertise in instructional design, data management, and UXD. The Center’s academic programs are dynamic, information-rich, innovative initiatives with information and resources spread across more than ten websites and apps.
Primary duties include: 1) assisting faculty and program leads in the development of educational curricula and learning support systems; 2) creating, editing, posting, updating, and occasionally cleaning up outdated content and data; 3) identifying new content opportunities and exploring ways to repurpose existing content within and across sites and apps; 4) ensuring that the information presented on course and program websites accurately reflects and supports the learning objectives of that course or program; 5) researching, evaluating and integrating new learning technologies into courses and Center initiatives; 6) monitoring and reporting on traffic and usage; 7) implementing changes to layout and content based on website analytics, usability testing, and student and faculty feedback.
Successful candidates must show a strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational and communication skills. Prior experience in managing digital content in applications such as Wordpress or Moodle is necessary.
NPS is a fully accredited graduate school. CHDS serves students from homeland-security disciplines within federal, state, local, tribal and territorial government agencies. Candidates must hold Master’s degree. U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background-check is required.
