The Maryland Department of Health, Medical Care Programs, Office of Finance is seeking an Accountant Advanced. This position will provide professional accounting services for the Medicaid program by assisting the unit in budget preparation, assisting outside customers with financial information requests, and submission of expenditures to the federal government for reimbursement of costs for Medicaid services. The incumbent prepares four quarterly expenditure projections for the Medical Care Program with respect to all Provider Reimbursement Program units.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by three credit hours in auditing.
Experience: Three years of experience examining, analyzing and interpreting accounting systems, records and reports by applying generally accepted accounting principles.
The successful applicant should have experience in the following areas: full cycle budget preparation and budget analysis; accounting and fiscal year closeout; tracking and monitoring federal grants.
