The Intermediary Sales desk drives sales with the following sales teams: National Accounts, Financial Advisor, Broker/Dealer and Defined Contribution Investment Only (DCIO). The DCIO Internal Sales Specialist is focused on building relationships with retirement advisors, recordkeeping sales teams and key TPA firms.
The primary responsibility of this role is to partner with an external wholesaler in the field to generate sales for American Century Investments. This individual is responsible for creating new and managing existing relationships with retirement advisors and wholesaling teams by providing financial insight, product information and details on value-added sales tools using a consultative sales process. This role will provide wholesaling support, primarily by phone, and respond to client requests as needed. Some travel to meet with clients is expected. This may involve specific territory management of remote areas and/or project management responsibilities in support of the department's sales efforts.
Partner with your external wholesaler to position and sell key products and promote value added services to our DCIO relationships and prospects. This involves extensive proactive outbound telephone calls and documentation of activities in our client management database.
Utilize fund analysis and other research tools to strategically leverage our product offerings. Continually build and maintain knowledge of American Century investment management, products, industry events, value added tools, and recent developments impacting clients.
Collaborate with your external partner(s) and internal resources to develop and implement territory business plans to maximize sales.
Participate in regional and national conferences as needed. In-person contact with key clients as agreed upon with manager and external partner(s) is also required.
Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Minimum three years financial industry experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of the financial intermediary marketplace.
Series 7 & 63 licenses - if not currently held then required within 30 days of employment date.
Demonstrated interpersonal, investment analysis, written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of the retirement marketplace.
Knowledge of American Century Investments' procedural and operational policies.
Working knowledge of MS Office, Morningstar Workstation, fi360, Brightscope, Zephyr StyleAdvisor and Salesforce CRM software.
Normal office environment.
Occasional travel required.
