POSITION SUMMARY: As part of the Clean Energy Communities program, a New York State effort to promote municipal clean energy actions, this position is responsible for leading projects focused on promoting energy efficiency, renewables and clean transportation for municipalities in Schuyler, Steuben and Chemung counties. The Energy Resource Educator will collaborate with his/her supervisor, CCE Schuyler Association Executive Director, the Clean Energy Communities Resource Educator based in CCE Tompkins and other members of a regional Clean Energy Communities team on assessment, development, delivery and evaluation of the program.

Experience working with municipal and agency staff at local, regional and state levels.

Program Assessment - 20%
Apply subject matter knowledge to work within a team led by a Tompkins County Clean Energy Community Resource Educator and with an advisory committee to identify gaps in knowledge and other barriers to adoption of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency practices.
Assess the environment for new trends, technology advancements and state policy developments in order to identify upcoming programming needs for energy education.
Maintain knowledge about local municipal and county needs, as well as statewide and national initiatives related to energy education to assess needs for comprehensive and relevant programs.
Program Development- - 20%
Utilizing in-depth subject matter knowledge and expertise in clean energy topics, work with team members and an advisory committee to create innovative and educational programs to address barriers to municipal adoption of clean energy goals and to develop solutions including engaging diverse partners and collaborators.
Develop and adapt materials to address program needs.
Based on evaluation feedback from Tompkins County Clean Energy Community Resource Educator, structure programs to meet the need of diverse program participants and changing local issues.
Create and maintain working relationships with project partners, municipal leaders, community members, the University, municipalities and other interested groups to create and develop program materials to address client needs.
Program Delivery - 20%
Apply in-depth subject matter knowledge, experience and information acquired during assessment to create and develop the resulting educational program.
Use a variety of delivery methods including workshops, public events, private meetings, articles, web pages and social media to deliver the innovative educational program.
Represent the CCE team to before the public, municipal and community leaders in a professional manner as part of program delivery.
Adapt existing materials to create lesson plans that meet local community and individual needs, and consider diverse audiences.
Maintain direct linkage with Cornell and other SUNY institutions for program delivery guidance.
Utilizing proven educational program delivery methods and established materials, engage Interns and/or Work Study Students.
Serve as subject matter expert and respond to questions about renewables, energy efficiency, and municipal energy programs.
Program Evaluation - 10%
With guidance from Tompkins County Clean Energy Communities Resource Educator, design a program evaluation framework which includes collection of program data, methods for evaluation protocols, implementing the evaluations, analyzing data, and communicating results to stakeholders.
Interact with program participants and advisory committees to collect program evaluation data.
Collaborate with CCE team members and program participants to analyze and interpret the evaluation data; make any recommendations for improvement; communicate the results to stakeholders.
Applied Research - 0%
Administrative Direction - 10%
Design a system of ongoing collaboration with external stakeholders who represent and communicate the demographics of the communities to support the planning of the educational program.
Provide input to the planning of the program budget based on feasibility needs and expenses.
Plan effective strategic external and internal communication and marketing efforts.
Administrative Management -10%
Manage program expenses to ensure spending is within program budget constraints, including meeting match requirements.
Assist in solving problems and resolving conflicts that arise in the program/function, utilizing appropriate policies and procedures.
Supervise and support Interns and/or Work Study Students involved with program outreach and delivery providing regular communication, coaching and feedback regarding performance.
Manage appropriate work schedules for Interns and/or Work Study Students.
Administrative Coordination/Operation - 5%
Provide moderately complex administrative support to the implementation of the assessment, development, delivery and evaluation of the established educational program goals.
Prepare required program and financial narrative reports and submit to Tompkins County Clean Energy Communities Resource Educator for review and to meet funding agency requirements.
Create and implement appropriate program work schedules for Interns and Work Study Students.
Professional Improvement and Other Duties as Assigned - 5%
In cooperation with supervisor, jointly develop and pursue a professional development plan as a means to increase competencies relative to position accountabilities and to address changes in programming and association priorities.
Collaborate in activities that are in general support of Cornell Cooperative Extension including but not limited to attendance at staff meetings, timely reporting of expenses, working with other staff, general marketing of Extension programs and other duties as assigned.

POSITION DETAILS: This is an exempt, full-time position, salary of $47,500 per annum.
