Physician Assistant Program Director- The Graduate School - (170000US)
The Graduate School ( www.graduate.umaryland.edu/ ) at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) in collaboration with Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) is seeking applicants for a full-time Physician Assistant Program Director (Director) and Senior Lecturer, non-tenure track, 12-month appointment. The Director is responsible for the overall planning, development, and implementation of the curriculum for the PA program; and for administering the clinical education component, including identifying and overseeing clinical education sites. Additionally, the Director is responsible for serving as an instructor in the program and for ensuring that the program is in compliance with the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for Physician Assistant Education (ARC-PA).
Doctoral degree in Medicine with eligibility for Maryland licensure and completion of an accredited medical residency program in one of the following: Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine or Pediatrics.
A Masters prepared Physician Assistant degree from a regionally accredited institution with current NCCPA certification.
Two years' experience in discipline with expertise in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or Emergency Medicine is preferred.
Experience in healthcare and knowledge of behavioral and population health is preferred.
Two years teaching experience is required with a proven record of excellence.
Experience in curriculum development is preferred.
Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty, preceptors, clinical site staff, and organizational administrators.
