Represents an experienced consultant providing subject matter knowledge for supporting Total Rewards Compensation, its AoE Leaders, Leaders from other Areas of Expertise, and the Associate Resource Center in the design, development and delivery of programs and services intended to meet the needs of the UEM. Provides specialized, consultative analytical support in the planning, defining and validating of functional area programs, including strategy, philosophy and policy development; assists in the design, development, review and modification of component-specific program plans, policies and procedures; develops and disseminates related communication materials; conducts compliance audits; performs evaluative analysis of programs and their impacts; and leads or participates in organization-wide or UOTE-sponsored special projects or initiatives. Advises executives, managers and associates on Total Rewards program, policies and procedures. Work activities include administering component-specific program policies and procedures; conducting job evaluation and market analysis; developing job descriptions; supporting executive performance management planning; administering variable compensation plans and procedures; and responding to and completing multiple, varied and technically diverse assignments.

Provides consultative analytical support in the planning, defining and validating of program-specific philosophy, strategy and approach. Assists in designing, developing, reviewing, modifying and costing component-specific programs, policies and procedures. Develops locally defined policies and procedures, as warranted. Develops, explains and disseminates related communication materials. Engages associates in group presentations/seminars on programs, policies, changes or issues. Participates in measuring program effectiveness and service delivery efficiency.
Conducts audits to ensure jobs are correctly classified and component-specific programs comply with government, legislative and regulatory requirements. Identifies and escalates potential issues. Completes reporting requirements, as required.
Consults with Associate Resource Center in responding to escalated inquiries from executives, managers and associates concerning Total Rewards programs; disseminates general Total Rewards program and/or policy information; manages daily vendor relationships; performs variable compensation plan administration procedures; and develops and documents total rewards statement requirements.
Administers physician compensation. Responds to requests for physician compensation fair market value information.
Provides consultative support to the Talent Management AoE in the design, development and delivery of Trinity Health’s Talent Management programs, from a Total Rewards perspective. Reviews position requisitions to ensure that staffing plans are aligned with organization spans-of-control and budgeted allocations.
Develops and documents job descriptions requirements and conducts internal and external job content analysis to assign appropriate job titles and determine relative pay level/grade.
Compiles and analyzes market-based compensation data for executive, non-executive and physician jobs (including living wage analysis) in order to ensure salary adjustments, promotions for executives and physicians, and starting salaries for associates adhere to established parameters. Performs annual salary planning activities including the establishment of the annual compensation budget (includes multi-year plan).
Supports the planning, defining and validating of an Associate & Labor Relations program philosophy and approach. Reviews policies and practices to ensure compliance with government regulations. Assists in the design, development and implementation of union representation management programs, tools and processes.
Supports Merger, Divestiture and Acquisition (MD&A) activities, as directed, by consulting Business Leaders and Senior Management Partners on and assisting in defining the UOTE strategy, program philosophy and approach for the post-MD&A organization. Assists in conducting due diligence on Total Rewards programs, policies, operations and infrastructure to support MD&A negotiations. Assists with coordinating and integrating the merged, acquired or divested organization ensuring alignment with Trinity Health culture, Total Rewards programs and policies. As warranted by business situation, participates in the design, development and implementation of Total Rewards programs and policies for post-MD&A organizations.
Assists in measuring and analyzing Total Rewards program and policy impact, return on investment and operational effectiveness.

Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources, as normally obtained through a Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred. Executive Compensation Experience Preferred.
Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years progressively more responsible compensation related experience and considerable in-depth knowledge in job evaluation, market analysis, base and incentive pay and compensation program administration. Healthcare experience preferred. Program development experience preferred.
Considerable and in-depth knowledge in human resources practices, laws and regulations, specifically the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Understanding of organizational relationships and structures.
Ability to respond to variable situations requiring analytical, interpretative, evaluative and constructive thinking abilities. Strong logical and deductive reasoning abilities.
Substantial analytical and problem solving skills in order to independently evaluate and develop innovative solutions to complex situations while applying extensive Total Rewards experience.
Advanced level of written and verbal communication skills and oral presentation skills in order to interpret, explain, discuss and present technical and somewhat complex information. Ability to coach, mentor and provide guidance to lower level colleagues. Detail-oriented with a high level of organizational skills and ability to manage and complete work in an efficient and thorough manner.
Proficiency in software programs including Microsoft Office. Strong Excel skills in order to develop and maintain spreadsheets and perform data analysis. Familiarity with PeopleSoft and MarketPay preferred.
Must be discrete and maintain the highest confidentiality with extremely sensitive data.
