General overview of the position of Service Technician- Repair, install or maintain mobile or stationary radio transmitting, broadcasting, and receiving equipment, and two-way radio communications systems used in public safety radio systems, commercial radio applications and radio equipment in service and emergency vehicles. Essential Responsibilities- 1.Installation, maintenance, and repair of two-way radios, base installations, repeaters, mobiles, portables, licensed and unlicensed microwave links, dispatch consoles, battery back-up systems, and mobile installations. 2.Computer skills required with the ability to program, troubleshoot and/or perform diagnostics on communication systems. 3.Trunked radio systems, P25, DMR (Moto TRBO), LTR, and IP Based communication systems and network components 4.Sales engineering Support 5.Program many types of radio systems to customer licensed requirements. 6.On-call on a rotating basis 7.Reports to Service Manager or President of Service 8.Other duties as assigned
Training, Experience and Education- High School Diploma, two-year degree in electronics preferred and/or military RF/ electronics schooling and or experience in the two-way radio industry, FCC, ETA, R56, amateur radio license, and other industry standard certifications are a plus.
Probation Period- 90-day orientation period of as a “part time” employee then full time.
MUST HAVE ETA CETa within 90 days of employment
Other requirements- Valid Driver’s license with a good record, Clean background check, Travel may be required for field service work.
