The College of Business and Management (CBM) at Saginaw Valley State University seeks an Associate Director of Entrepreneurship, Experiential Learning, and Continuing Education. The Associate Director reports directly to the Dean of the CBM. The Associate Director works closely with the Executive-in-Residence and faculty in the College to achieve its entrepreneurship, experiential learning and continuing education goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Dean, CBM with the positioning of the Dow Entrepreneurship Institute as a hub of the entrepreneurial support system in the Great Lakes Bay Region (GLBR), connecting students and other entrepreneurs with appropriate resources in the GLBR and beyond, and identifying and filling gaps in the support system. This will include serving as an institutional resource to promote and support entrepreneurial initiatives among SVSU students and faculty, implementing strategies to engage students and faculty in entrepreneurship, supervising and mentoring student projects in entrepreneurship, developing new outreach programs that advance entrepreneurship and innovation among SVSU students and community, and developing and maintaining a regional network of entrepreneurship-supporting resources to provide seamless connections for SVSU students and clients
Assist the Dean, CBM with the design and implementation of intentionally crafted experiences that assist students in career exploration, critical reflection, personal and professional development, and successful transition to the workforce, and
Assist the Dean, CBM with the development, coordination, and management of a variety of non-credit programs and courses including continuing professional education, and customized training for business, industry, government, and not-for-profit organizations.
Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Significant entrepreneurial, experiential and continuing education experience, evidence of a significant network of business contacts or potential to develop such a network; master's degree in a related field.
Personal experience in business start-ups. Experience in mentoring others in entrepreneurial projects.
