The Health & Wellness Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Psychiatrist to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Psychiatric patient care. * Inclusion in SHWC committees and projects.
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:
Medical degree from an accredited medical school and successful completion of an accredited residency program in psychiatry; Board Certification or Board Eligible in psychiatry from a recognized board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Ability to practice medicine within the scope of license, training and credentials.
* Demonstrated knowledge and skill in evaluating, planning, implementing individual patient care.
* Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations governing the practice of medicine.
* Ability to care for a diverse patient population.
* Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.
Required: Current license or the ability to obtain a license by Texas Medical Board; Texas Controlled Substance Registration Certificate from Department of Public Safety (DPS) or ability to obtain; and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate from Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to include Schedule II drugs.
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* Previous college healthcare experience.
