Which is why your performance and innovation will find a reception here like nowhere else as you help people live healthier lives while doing your life's best work.(sm) Primary Responsibilities: Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reportsPerform account reconciliations and analyses, prepares journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principlesAnalyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial positionInvolvement in the monthly/quarterly 'close' processPrepare documentation in support of external and internal auditsReview the work of others.Develop innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectivenessOverall oversight of the calculation and booking of monthly journal entries for assigned medical costs and related balance sheet accountsReviewing and certifying general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with corporate policyPreparation of quarterly and annual Audit supportOngoing analysis and explanation of assigned medical costs on both P&L and B/SEnsure MLR reporting compliancePrepares and supports internal and external reporting requirements, including monthly presentation of medical payable balance sheet flux analysis to leadershipWork with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, enhancements, and efficiencies
Required Qualifications:3+ years of Accounting experienceAdvanced analytical and information gathering skillsPrior experience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities, and achieving solutions while meeting deadlinesStrong Microsoft offices skillsStrong experience with financial software and general ledger applications (Excel, PeopleSoft, Smartview,)Independent, innovative, self-starterStrong written and oral communication skillsBachelor degree with concentration in AccountingIntermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft ExcelAnticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet themPreferred Experience: Public accounting experience Report and pivot table building and manipulation SAS skills Healthcare experience Accounting experience handling regulated entitiesExperience with Hyperion Essbase, PeopleSoft Financials, and Microsoft Access Careers with UnitedHealthcare.
