Teach 12 credits per semester. Expected to teach both lower and upper division courses in social stratification. (E.g. Race and Ethnic Relations, Issues in Sex and Gender).
Expected to teach courses in Social Theory and Research Methods.
Develop upper division courses in area of their own specialization.
Contribute to a program of scholarship in the discipline; engage in student advising; service to the university community and other associated faculty duties.
Contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and involvement in activities that support Bemidji State University's shared values of Environmental Stewardship, Civic Engagement, Global/Multicultural Understanding.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to a collegial and supportive environment that advances the goals of the department, including curriculum development, assessment, and other departmental governance activities.
PhD in Sociology from an accredited institution in hand by start date.
Demonstrated commitment to quality teaching.
Ability to design and teach courses in Research Methods or Social Statistics.
Ability to design and deliver online courses.
Teaching experience as Instructor of record.
Knowledge of and experience with diverse cultures and populations.
The applicant must meet HLC expectations.
The applicant must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States at the time of an offer of employment.
