An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Operational Risk Associate to join a leading Asset Manager in central London and provide subject matter expertise to its Real Estate business.
You will support the Head of Risk in maintaining a robust Operational Risk framework and its effective operation. Operational Risk reporting and analysis are key components of the role alongside continued development, implementation and maintenance of other Operational Risk framework elements.
Your main responsibilities will be to support delivery of the firm's Real Estate Annual Risk plan across all elements of the operational risk framework as well as champion the development of the risk framework and raise risk awareness across the business.
Deliver high quality risk reporting and analysis to internal stakeholders including Real Estate Board, Real Estate Risk Committee and Operational Risk and Governance (ORG).
Ensure there is an appropriate Risk Management framework in place for the global Real Estate business.
Work in partnership with all business areas to embed the Risk Management Framework and promote and support maintenance of an effective risk culture across the business.
Provide advice and guidance to the business on effective risk mitigation strategies.
Support delivery of the Annual Risk Management plan across all risk framework elements.
Undertake reviews of emerging risks as directed by the Real Estate Risk Committee.
Perform operational incident reviews and track actions to completion.
Co-ordinate with wider functions on risk matters including Information Risk Management, Financial Crime Prevention Unit, Operational Risk and Governance.
Timely escalation of emerging risks and issues.
Tracking and reporting of all open issues and actions across Real Estate. Support the business to manage down the volume of open issues and actions as required.
Represent the Real Estate business at group wide fora as required.
Co-ordination and production of Risk Committee reporting.
Ideal Candidate Background
Deep technical understanding of Operational Risk management methodology within a Fund Management environment
Excellent report writing and analysis skills
Interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels
You should be able to challenge business areas and senior management in an effective and professional manner
Excellent stakeholder management skills along with the ability to multitask and define priorities
Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio process mapping tool
