And you'll do your life's best work.(sm) To manage the end-to-end process of creation and delivery of medical records and documentation in support of Veteran disability and benefit examinations. Primary Responsibilities:Manages the daily operations of retrieval, download and sorting of all medical information relative to Veteran disability and benefit claimsEnsure timely creation and delivery of medical records and documentation in accordance with contractual obligations and internal policiesManages all daily clinical records functions including establishing and implementing best practices, policies and protocols for the Medical Records departmentEnsure Key Performance Indicators meet or exceed established goalsEnsures clinical record systems are maintained in compliance with state, federal and regulationsMaintains comprehensive working knowledge of state, federal regulations and serves as a resource for appropriate organization personnelProtects all clinical records through the establishment and implementation of control procedures for all open and closed recordsProtects the confidentiality of patient and organization information through effective controls and direct supervision of clinical records and complies with all HIPAA requirementsSupervises the use of the clinical records information system and maintains a comprehensive working knowledge of the system including upgrades and enhancementsIdentifies opportunities for process improvement and system upgrades in support of increased performance and qualityCoordinates participation in End User Acceptance Testing for system modifications and upgradesAll other duties assigned by Management
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience2+ years of supervisory experience in a healthcare or insurance setting in at least a manager levelExperience managing production focused staffPreferred RequirementsExperience managing production focused staffDegree in nursing or other medical field5+ years of experience managing large, cross-functional teams a healthcare or insurance setting in at least manager positionExperience managing telecommuting home workforceCareers with MSLA.
