Summary of Job Function:
The Manager LT is responsible for the day to day operation of Biomedical Engineering department at a local facility, or multiple facilities. This position is the principal liaison between the local facility and the system for medical equipment management. The person in this role will be responsible for the execution of department/organizational goals, policies, regulatory requirements and staff performance. Will work with the department Director in establishing goals, policies and staffing. .
Minimum AAS degree (BS preferred) in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent work/military experience in Biomedical Engineering.
7+ years of hands on experience
2+ years of supervisory/management/leadership experience
Knows how to use biomedical/electronic test equipment
Knows principles and function of electricity/electronics
Knows how to use MS Office and other computer applications
Knows various types of medical equipment and medical terminology
Knowledge of healthcare regulatory bodies and standards (Joint Commission, CMS, FDA, DOH & Others)
Knowledge of computers and networks preferred
Undergraduate accounting course desirable
AAMI/ICC certification preferred
Attended management/leadership seminars, training or conferences a plus
Project management experience a plus
