The School of Engineering and Computer Science invites nominations and applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Computer Science. The successful candidate must have an earned Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field, leadership experience, a commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, a strong research record that includes significant external funding, and effective communication and organization skills.
The Department: Computer Science is one of three departments in the School of Engineering and Computer Science. It offers an ABET-accredited B.S. in Computer Science degree, a B.A. degree with a major in Computer Science, a B.S. in Informatics with a major in Bioinformatics, B.S. in Computing with a major in Computer Science Fellows, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science. The Department has 15 full-time faculty, over 370 undergraduate majors and 20 graduate students. The Department’s greatest strength is its dedication to the success of the students and each other.
