Team Profile: QAPM provides Quality Assurance and Production Management services to all clients within the Firm. QAPM partners with the development teams to ensure seamless technology delivery to our clients. QAPM's goal is to deliver a first-class technology platform by ensuring top-notch service within QA and Production Management. This division will support the evolution of technology platforms and tools, manage and maintain our production plant, and ensure the implementation and adherence to proper operational controls to manage risk.
Role Profile: FIC ET QA is a global QA team assembled to provide Quality Assurance services for software developed for the Electronic Trading inside of Morgan Stanley Electronic Trading. The role is to join the existing team and help to grow the coverage globally by building automation solutions. The testing team is a good mix of full-time employees, and contractor resources located globally. You should have a good understanding of development of server side testing solutions with technical experience in scripting languages such as Python, PERL and the FIX protocol. Hands on experience with development and test automation tools/frameworks are desired.
You will be expected to act as a representative for FIC-ET QA working very closely with the developers and development managers to ensure the product deliverables meets the business needs. You will be involved in defining and executing test strategies for products delivered by the FIC organization for the firm.
Experience in Quality Assurance and test automation (exposure to development of server side automated testing solutions)
Technical experience in Python, PERL or related scripting language (knowledge with the FIX protocol preferred)
Proficient knowledge of basic coding principles
Strong knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
Experience working with source control / defect tracking and continuous integration systems
Adopt best practices when developing automation code including comment documentation, maintainability and data-driven development
Ability to partner with peers and management team to continuously improve testing methods, process, techniques and use of tools
A quick learner, being able to adapt to a fast paced heterogeneous environment and acquire necessary knowledge
Knowledge of trading life cycle with exposure to trading and matching engines will be preferred
Basic understanding of capital markets, electronic trading, order flow and execution, FIX protocol
Detail oriented and be able to work in a fast paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication
