The NYU Tandon School of Engineering is a comprehensive school of engineering, applied sciences, technology and research, and is rooted in a 162-year tradition of invention, innovation and entrepreneurship. Located in downtown Brooklyn, now regarded as one of the coolest places in the country, the School is connected strongly to other units of NYU, NYU Abu Dhabi, and NYU Shanghai, and to the entrepreneurship community of New York City. It has made tremendous progress in recent years, especially in building interdisciplinary programs, and has 5200 students split roughly between undergraduate and graduate programs.
The position will lead the Veterans Future lab, a program and space under the NYU Tandon Future Labs. The role will oversee all day to day operations including maintaining the space, recruiting the first round of companies into the space, and running the year long incubator program. The position will also manage the veterans entrepreneurship training program and the Makerspace events, as well as other tasks as they arise.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field
Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Business, Finance or related field
Required Experience: 5-10 years of experience in business development/sales
Extensive experience effectively managing teams and supporting team members in achieving ambitious objectives
Knowledge of the startup lifecycle and support services for entrepreneurs
Familiarity with network of veteran services and understanding of key decision makers with prior relationships with key decision makers
Preferred Experience: Prior service in the United States Armed Forces is a plus
