JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for total practice management of multi-location, multi-provider OB/GYN practice. Plans, coordinates, directs and supervises the medical facility. Accountable for the overall operational business and clinical functions of the unit.
Supervise staff and oversee the management of all division activities and staff; including but not limited to setting up and maintaining office systems ranging from scheduling patients, triage, billing and collection, managing front and back office staff.
Responsible for developing and implementing the unit's mission and strategic vision.
Represents the division in its relationships with other health organizations, government agencies, and third party payers.
Oversees efforts for recruitment, employee development, performance evaluation and termination.
Provides direct approval for all practice expenditures.
Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation or quality of care.
Oversees implementation of company policies and procedures; establishes, secures approval for, and implements Unit-specific policies, if applicable.
Oversees the business and financial affairs of the Unit; oversight for expenditures and financial management.
Maintains compliance with Medicare, HIPPA, OSHA and labor laws.
If necessary, development of an internal management structure to ensure effective communication and efficiency.
Develop a reporting format to audit and monitor productivity and other key performance indicators.
Analyze the cost/benefit ratio and feasibility of opportunities that present to the Unit.
Meets regularly with partner physician(s) to review financial performance and key Unit performance metrics; continuously evaluating appropriateness of indicators.
Resolve any medical and/or administrative issue; ensures lines of communication are open to ensure high employee morale in a professional, healthy work environment.
Informs management about current trends, problems and medical activities to initiate new policies or facilitate improvements to current policy.
Coordinate with Central Business Office for credentialing /re-credentialing of providers.
Organization of effective, regular meetings for Unit personnel.
Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare or business management; appropriate experience may be substituted for educational requirements
Minimum 5 years healthcare management experience preferred
Knowledge of electronic medical record system
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management
Proven ability to analyze, problem-solve, adapt, delegate, negotiate, and tolerate while effectively communicating, planning and organizing all with attention to detail
Ability to relate well to patients, providers, employees, and other professionals. Must be dedicated to the vision and goals of the unit. The employee must have the ability to understand the goals of the practice and work to obtain these goals both independently and with the direction of the physician partners. Must have the ability to remain calm and exhibit tact in stressful and/or delicate situations. Must have the ability to handle confidential issues with discretion.
Requires full range manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
