Cone Health is seeking a highly motivated assistant director of pharmacy, Cone Health Specialty Pharmacy Services.
This individual will be responsible for developing and leading operational and or clinical initiatives within our specialty pharmacy and clinics. It is preferred that successful candidates have experience or knowledge in building and sustaining specialty pharmacy accreditation standards set by all applicable accrediting bodies.
The desired knowledge, skills, and abilities of this leadership position include:
Collaborate with service care providers and patients to establish and deploy health system wide specialty pharmacy services.
Work with health plans, other insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, employer groups, government, and other third-party to coordinate specialty pharmacy and associated disease management services.
Assist in the development and management of key specialty pharmacy services:
Develop the distribution call center, prior authorization and mail order processes.
Lead accreditation, quality and performance improvement in the specialty pharmacy.
Conduct market analysis, business intelligence and data analytics.
Embedded clinical pharmacists and clinical pharmacy practitioners (CPP) and other clinical support staff.
Develop and report on clinical measures within the assigned area of responsibility.
Create an engaging environment that supports continuouse individual, group and self-development within all facets of specialty pharmacy services best practice, including excellence in customer service.
Cultivate and foster a top decile (tier 1) employee partnership culture.
Develop and lead staff to exemplify outstanding performance and iCare standards and principles, including communication, accountability, respect, and empowerment.
Review, revise, and coordinate the inclusion of regulations of North Carolina Board of Pharmacy and other regulatory bodies, as well as professional standards, into patient service procedures.
Assist with the selection and implementation of technology needed to sustain specialty pharmacy call center and medication assistance clinical services.
Build and execute focused marketing initiatives to help patients, physicians, employer groups, to recognize and easily utilize the services of Cone Health Specialty Pharmacy.
Serve as a mentor, preceptor, and/or residency program director (if applicable) for pharmacy interns, students, and residents. Participate in professional associations and actively contribute to the specialty pharmacy ambulatory care literature.
Desired Degree: MHA, MS in Pharmacy, MBA or other advanced degree preferred
Desired Certifications: BCPS (Ambulatory or Pharmacotherapy), PGY1 and or PGY2 Accredited Residency Training
Minimum 2 yrs of hospital or 2 years of Specialty Pharmacy retail experience in call center operations, specialty pharmacy manufacturer contracting, business/budget planning, and specialty pharmacy accreditation.
1-3 years of supervisory experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
Successful completion of 340B University continuing education.
Demonstrable leadership experience in a progressive pharmacy practice model. Successful completion of PGY1 and PGY2 ASHP accredited Pharmacy Residencies or equivalent work experience
