Assistant Registrar for Academic Progress - Registrar 07022
The Office of the University Registrar is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Registrar for Academic Progress. The Assistant Registrar will manage the maintenance and analysis of the degree audit reporting system, Degree Works, for all three of WVU's campuses: Morgantown, Beckley and Keyser.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Serve as liaison to the Colleges and departments on specific program requirements and alterations to these requirements.
Serve as liaison between the Office of the University Registrar graduation unit and the Degree Works unit.
Direct proper coding, updating, and modification of degree audit programs, data and information.
Research new and revised information regarding degree requirements.
Devise and implement strategies to increase usage of the student planner.
Evaluate the exceptions management system and utilize best practices to inform modifications to the systems and policies governing it.
Supervise three Degree Works analysts (Professional Technologists II).
Serve as liaison to the Information Technology Database Administrators to ensure adherence to technical specifications necessary for full Degree Works functionality and optimal performance.
Create and maintain appropriate user roles and security permissions for degree audit system users.
Assist with research, development, and leading the planning of new Degree Works feature enhancements and upgrades.
Assist with research and implementing marketing/strategic initiatives to highlight the degree audit system to faculty, staff, and students.
Bachelor's degree in the liberal arts, education, computer science, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution; master's degree preferred
Two (2) years of experience in academic and/or student services, preferably in a Registrar's Office
Experience should also include:
Degree audit system and a computerized records management
Experience with the principles, practice and techniques used in the maintenance and analysis of technology and communicating effectively both orally and in writing with diverse groups of constituents
Experience with project development, management, and implementation
