This position is responsible for handling all field service needs including product information, adverse events, educational platforms, and training/coaching the sales team on technical aspects of the product line.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work with all Sales Representatives in a support role a minimum of 3 times each year to educate and influence veterinarians regarding the science for Adequan and BetaVet.
Grow technical proficiency of field equine personnel via field session, one-on-one training, web-based training, or other opportunities, as needed or requested.
Work with veterinary schools (facility, students and administrators) to provide necessary tools to support existing and future Adequan and BetaVet usage. Rank schools according to degree of interest in equine lameness and visit one per month.
Attend technical seminars as needed at regional, local veterinary meetings or veterinary schools/colleges to support the equine product line and sales goals, presenting where necessary, and proactively seek out new opportunities. Minimum of 6 per year.
Conduct educational meetings on Joint disease to veterinarians, horse owners, trainers, and competitors. Minimum two per month.
Provide monthly schedule of all travels and overview of previous month accomplishments. Manage calendar and field requests efficiently.
Provide feedback and direction to marketing on equine related product development and possible acquisition of products. Identify a minimum of 3 potential projects annually.
Maintain technical competency especially in fields directly related to equine products and seek opportunities for professional development and improvement.
Monitor veterinary industry publications, news, and events for potential impact on business.
Project positive image of Luitpold Animal Health and promoted products to equine veterinary health professionals, complying with all regulatory standards governing veterinary pharmaceuticals.
DVM/VMD with minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience in equine practice. Prior experience in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred. Interest in equine lameness a plus. Board-certification a plus but not required.
Experience in or knowledge of pharmacovigilance desirable but not required.
Strong interpersonal skills, “team player”, self-starter, ability to multi-task, and enjoy working on a variety of projects. Experience in sales or a teaching/training environment strongly desired.
Excellent computer skills Proficient is MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as proven public speaking proficiency to all manner and levels of audiences.
Passion to provide exemplary technical support to the equine veterinary industry.
Ability to travel overnight and weekends approximately 75%
