THIS IS AN AT-WILL POSITION.
Works in the professional auditing of Palm Beach County governmental activities. Conducts or supervises performance audits (as defined by Government Auditing Standards) of governmental activities; evaluates programs or organizations for effectiveness, efficiency and/or economy of operations, the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls over such activities and determines if the activities are in compliance with laws, policies, procedures and good business practices. Work is performed with a latitude of independent judgment and is reviewed through periodic meetings and audit reports provided to the Internal Audit Manager/Internal Auditor. General supervision is provided by the Internal Audit Manager/Internal Auditor.

Bachelor’s Degree in Public/Business Administration or Accounting; minimum of six (6) years of professional auditing, program evaluation, contract compliance, or grant evaluation experience in the government or private sectors including a minimum of four (4) years of internal auditing experience.
Necessary Special Requirements: Must be certified in one of the following: Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) or Certified Control Self-Assessment (CCSA). Additional certification in one of the following: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
PREFERENCE FOR: Experience in an audit environment following Government Auditing Standards; related Master’s Degree.
