The Department of Biostatistics in the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh seeks applicants for one or more full-time open-rank tenure-track/tenured positions, to begin in fall 2018 or earlier.
The Department, founded in 1949 as one of the original departments of the School, currently consists of 23 primary and 20 secondary faculty members. We conduct cutting-edge Pl initiated research (methodological and applied) and collaborative research on a wide range of topics stemming from real world applications in biomedical sciences. The Department has thriving MS and PhD programs consisting of, on average, 50 fully funded PhD students and 30 MS students. Our alumni hold faculty positions at major academic institutions, government agencies, and leading industries. The University of Pittsburgh ranks among the top five universities in the country in terms of NIH-funded research.
We seek applicants with a doctoral degree in Biostatistics/Statistics or related fields who have a strong commitment to teaching, independent methodological/applied research and collaborative research. We are interested in candidates with research expertise in the areas of high-dimensional data, Bayesian methods, and clinical trials. Rank and salary will be determined by the candidate's credentials. New PhDs and postdoctoral fellows are encouraged to apply.
