In this IT Architect role, you will be responsible for the development, communication and implementation of the organization's technology architecture and applications plan, including the components required to support it and in the integration of corporate and business architecture and applications. Primary Responsibilities: You will collaborate with the business to understand/influence business requirements You will demonstrate understanding of cross-functional/cross-domain requirements and impact You will maintain knowledge of current and emerging technologies/products/trends related to architectural solutions You will ensure alignment of solutions with business and IT goals/objectives You will identify and quantify scope and impact of business changes on systems You will facilitate/lead/participate in identification of solution options and features You will communicate solution options to business owners/stakeholders (e.g. architecture reviews) You will analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework You will develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects You will incorporate software and system architecture (e.g. infrastructure, network) into conceptual designs You will identify gaps between established standards and proposed solutions, and follow the exception/waiver process as needed You will maintain awareness of current technology assets and the capability of each You will understand and adhere to architecture Governance framework You will deliver all project deliverables on scope, on time and on budget Position will have Networking SME responsibility for large client facing ITaaS Program Implementation initiatives Position will have responsibility for LAN/WAN Architecture Solution Design validation and responsibility to adapt and adjust design to ensure successful implementation Position will partner with Program Delivery Leadership, Product Management, Optum Internal teams, as well as 3rd Party Solution and Service Providers Integrate information technologies into the company for optimal effectiveness Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success Provide lead SME role Participate in recruitment, orientation and ongoing training of new IT staff Supervise and direct IT personnel Chair and attend Product, Project, and Operational meetings Position requires up to 50% travel, with significant travel on the on-set of Programs signing, tailoring off over time based on Program Length and complexity Positions in this function are involved in the development, communication and implementation of the organization's technology architecture and applications plan, including the components required to support it and in the integration of corporate and business architectures and applications Responsible for coordinating, administering and supporting activities related to WAN/LAN planning and development and related projects. Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience 8+ years of experience in WAN/LAN Solution Delivery and architecture 8+ years designing, testing, and inspecting data communications systems 8+ years performing network modeling, analysis, and planning Deep understanding of industry patterns for WAN/LAN architecture and integration Requires up to 50% travel, with significant travel on the on-set of Programs signing, tailoring off over time based on Program Length and complexityPreferred Qualifications: Health care industry experience Team leadership or team management experience Experience prototyping and performance tuning networks deployed across multiple locations including 3rd party vendor sites and Public Cloud providersCareers with Optum.
