Clinical product owner for Optum's GP products and services, to lead a cross-functional team, working closely with GP customers, and internal/external stakeholders to design, develop and test a range of primary care products and services. Primary Responsibilities:Work with clinical leadership and product management team to define GP clinical product and service roadmapCollaborate with applicable stakeholders to obtain appropriate market information / data (e.g., marketing, sales) Gather / analyse / validate applicable data from internal and external sources (e.g., clients, prospects, potential customers) to identify market characteristics / needs / problems Define the core competencies / capabilities that distinguish us in the marketplace (e.g. key differentiators) Document / communicate market problems and characteristics and needs to applicable stakeholders Support definition of clinical product strategy to ensure it meets market expectation Identify parts of the business, expertise, other products / services that could be leveraged to meet market expectations Determine whether the organization has or can obtain the capabilities to address market needs and product strategies (e.g. capability assessment, build, buy, partner, productizing internal tools / processes Develop primary care clinical products and servicesIdentify and communicate client goals / needs as input to product planning efforts Prioritise and define user stories to deliver clinical backlog and roadmap, with a primary focus on improving efficiency and quality of clinical administrative and triage processes Lead the clinical team to define tasks, roles and responsibilities to deliver clinical features Define user / buyer characteristics to drive product planning efforts (e.g., personas, archetypes) Define business requirements that address market / product problems / needs (e.g., technology, operations, staffing) Work closely technology colleagues to define business requirements, features and functionality of assisting applications, software and technology Develop associated policies, procedures and guidelines to support changes to medical and clinical operations as a result of product portfolio Review and approve policy and process changes Work closely with clinical governance team to ensure all products adhere to Optum's clinical governance standards as well as national standards / regulatory requirements Oversee / evaluate clinical pilots and product testing against user requirements and standards (Optum and national) Develop / deliver / ensure product training / education for applicable internal and external audiences (e.g., sales team, health plans, brokers, vendors), collaborating with appropriate stakeholders as needed (e.g., training staff, sales leadership, subject matter experts) Adhere to or champion use of applicable product development guidelines / procedures (e.g., Product Development Methodology, Product Development and Release, Product Lifecycle Management) Identify and mitigate applicable risks associated with product implementation (e.g., regulatory concerns) Ensure development of the capabilities needed to meet product strategies and plans (e.g., technology, operational services, consulting, capacity management) Develop required product collateral, in collaboration with applicable business partners (e.g., Marketing, Clinical, Legal, Regulatory tools) Ensure that identified issues / problems are addressed prior to product launch (e.g., monitor product testing activities as required) Ensure readiness of all internal and external functional business partners to ensure a successful product launchEnsure compliance of GP clinical products and services Interpret compliance / clinical / medical reports Evaluate compliance with national and organizational guidelines Evaluate products and services against accreditation standards Evaluate products and services against contractual requirements Oversee ongoing monitoring and internal auditing against relevant guidelines and standards Implement process improvement activities to address areas of non-compliance or ensure procedures are followed Ensure team members address gaps in performance against internal procedures and protocolsWorking either from the Paddington, London office or Telecommuting / Working At Home, this position is based wherever most convenient for the applicant on a regular basis. However, meetings through various parts of England are regular and often weekly. While we will try to place the post holder at a site within a reasonable commute from their homes, this is not always possible, and overnight stays do happen occasionally
