The Department of Biology at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) invites outstanding applicants for an adjunct position in the School of Science. The successful applicant will teach a double section (approximately 48 students) of our non-majors course Human Form & Function (BIO 171) during Spring 2018. In this course selected systems of the human body are examined at multiple levels of biological organization to illustrate the interdependence of structure and function and the basic principles governing life. Evolution of these attributes is contrasted and explored. Other important course topics include the relationship of biology to other scientific disciplines, and the influence of biology on society and accompanying ethical issues. Labs involve student-led investigations of human physiology, and the successful applicant would have the opportunity to contribute new lab activities. The course has been scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday 5:30PM – 6:20PM (lecture/discussion), Tuesday 6:30PM – 8:20PM (lab), and Thursday 6:30PM – 8:20PM (lab).
