Rutgers School of Nursing is seeking a Program Assistant for the department of Student Engagement. The Program Assistant for Student Engagement is a part time academic year appointment at Rutgers University. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, Program Assistant will be co-advising the school's multiple organizations on various campuses with first year recruitment and retention lens. Assists in the implementation of a comprehensive leadership development curriculum through the day to day running of the office and its programming efforts, including the First Year Experience, 2nd Degree program, and Graduate programs. Works on planning multiple orientation and registration events and serve on the convocation committee for the School of Nursing at Rutgers University.
Works with students and staff to implement assessment strategies useful in aiding the department in telling the story of its successes and areas for improvement in formal and informal monthly and annual reports.
Assists in leadership recruitment, application processes, student government elections and selection process.
Coordinates the event approval processes and procedures with student engagement staff.
Serves as a contact person for leaders to answer questions concerning policies and procedures, bulk mailing, and applications.
Works with interns to assist in coordinating the office's assessment program throughout the year in order to track statistics for appropriate periodic/operations reports and surveys.
Assists in conducting ongoing benchmarking efforts to assist in understanding and applying best practices related to leadership development and departmental goals.
Promotes student involvement through fairs, displays, effective use of social media and appointments with students.
Assists in coordinating and facilitating the student leader development trainings and retreats.
Maintains and updates webpage on a regular basis.
Serves as an active member of Student Engagement, attend meetings, and contributes to departmental goals and objectives.
Provides support for special events and functions.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Social Science, or related discipline plus one (1) year of related experience in a business office, government agency, or university setting.
Equivalent experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
Strong experience with event management, program planning, implementation and evaluation.
Possess and have demonstrated past leadership experience.

Must have flexible work hours; evening and weekend work hours may be required.
Experience building strong, professional inter-departmental relationships.
Stronger consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate increased availability during peak programming days.
