Western Kentucky University's (WKU's) Office of International Enrollment Management (IEM) is seeking applicants for the position of Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator is a full-time, twelve-month position in which reports to the Assistant Director of the International Student Office.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Conduct intensive research regarding international sponsored programs and report on findings for future enrollment initiatives
Develop and implement a plan for maintenance of current international sponsorships and for pursuing new sponsorships
Monitor sponsored international student's academic progress and assist in maintaining sponsorship requirements
Cultivate strong working relationships with government sponsored students attending WKU and key personnel at sponsoring organizations
Serve as the primary point of contact for all enrolled international sponsored students and act as a liaison between the student and all other departments on campus
Serve as the primary point of contact at WKU for sponsoring organizations, concerning student well-being and academic success
Run reports and provide data analysis on sponsored international students
Coordinate and implement career planning services for international students and scholars
Develop, implement and evaluate a variety of special programs and services designed to meet the unique needs of sponsored international students
Assist sponsored international students with the acclimation to the WKU campus and U.S. culture
Advises international students and scholars on F-1 and J-1 visa regulations and maintains appropriate records as required by the Department of Homeland Security and Department of State
Performs the full range of duties in the roles of Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO)
Provide BANNER software support
Provide document imaging support
Some international and domestic travel may be required
Other duties, as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential For Success:
Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form in English and a second language
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
Ability to work on a team as well as independently
Ability to develop and effectively deliver presentations
Demonstrate attention to details
U.S. citizenship or permanent residence (required by federal law for certification as a DSO and ARO)
Valid driver's license
Occasional weekend and evening hours are required
Proficiency with common computer applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Office Suite
Salary Grade: 107 Salary Range; $29,858 - $40,000
