Wheless Partners Executive Search has been engaged to lead a national search for the CEO position of Ely-Bloomenson Community Hospital in Ely, Minnesota—a 21-bed Critical Access Hospital and Level 4 Trauma Center with annual gross patient revenues in excess of $23M and 145 days cash on hand. The organization’s current CEO is retiring after serving for nearly 20 years, and the hospital is seeking a dynamic and accomplished healthcare leader with extensive critical access/rural health care knowledge and experience. The hospital has recently undergone dramatic improvements to include campus expansion and renovations to the ER and inpatient rooms, positioning it well for future growth in key clinical services and programs. The ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned healthcare professional who is well-versed on issues facing Critical Access, Rural, and Community Hospital & Clinics, and has a passion for serving his/her community.
The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare setting that includes comprehensive fiscal management, demonstrated experience working with clinicians and physician groups, a working knowledge of medical practices and procedures, contract negotiating experience, proven ability to lead and mentor an executive team, knowledge of clinical quality data and meaningful use criteria, an understanding of healthcare reform and the associated impacts on Critical Access Hospitals, and experience reporting to or serving on a Governing Board of Directors or comparable governance body.
The candidate must have earned a Bachelor's Degree, and ideally, a Master's Degree in Health Care Administration, Business, or other management degrees with healthcare-related experience.
