The Orientation Coordinator has primary responsibility for the development, implementation, and assessment of International Student Orientation. The coordinator will guide and motivate orientation team members to achieve the strategic plan for the International Student and Scholar Services Office, and to meet the goals set by the Orientation Team. Will work collaboratively with ISSS staff, admissions, Union Building administration, Student Housing and other University partners to effectively manage all orientation activities. Will also assist with updating and maintaining the US government's SEVIS database of international student and scholar records; will advise students and perform other duties as assigned.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Mo-Fri 8-5 with occasional weekends and evenings for special events.
Leads weekly orientation meetings
Schedules dates and times for summer, fall, and spring orientation
Manages orientation team members and ISSS staff volunteers and assign tasks and responsibilities as needed
Coordinates orientation week schedule for team members and ISSS staff volunteers
Supervises and trains ambassadors/graduate assistants to perform in their role and responsibilities during orientation week
Manages location and room reservations
Works with OGE Webmaster to maintain orientation section of the website
Sends pre-arrival e-mail through Sunapsis/manage Sunapsis orientation module
Coordinates all marketing and information materials used during orientation
Coordinates vendor scheduling and billing
Administers the orientation budget each semester, ensuring that expenses do not exceed revenues
Creates and updates as needed orientation process and procedure guide
Updates Associate Director as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency required. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
