Join us and start doing your life's best work.Primary Responsibilities:Register patients, obtain demographics and verify insurance information and code them in a timely manner, and explain conditions of admission to patient and obtain their signaturesExplains the payment and billing assistance program to all patients regardless of financial concerns or limitationsCollects co-payments, deductibles and patient's financial responsibilityProperly handles credit card and cash transactions in accordance with PCI-DSS standards and guidelinesUnderstands and follows the Cashier Policy and ProceduresFollow rules and regulations as well as the policy of the organizationAppropriate patient identificationCollecting accurate and thorough patient demographic dataObtaining insurance information and verifying eligibility and benefitsDetermining and collecting patient financial liability, and referring patients to the patient registration specialist as needed for assistance with financial counseling and / or clearance
Required Qualifications:High School Diploma / GED1+ years of experience working in a hospital patient registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and / or other revenue cycle related roles1+ years of experience performing basic mathematics for payment calculationAbility to navigate a PC and utilize Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook) in a professional settingMust be flexible to work 30 hours per week (3 days a week - 10 hour shifts) within the shifts of 10:30am-8:30pm and 4:00pm-2:30am Preferred Qualifications:1+ years of experience in requesting and processing financial paymentsKnowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs offeredUnderstanding of insurance policies and proceduresBilingual with English and Spanish or Armenian Careers with OptumInsight.
