Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Music and Theatre in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University is accepting applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor of trombone.
Responsibilities of this position include teaching studio trombone and a weekly performance seminar; teaching appropriate low brass methods courses for music education students; and recruiting and retaining quality trombone/low brass students. Additional teaching may be assigned based on the qualifications of the applicant and needs of the department, which could include all low brass teaching.
Required Education and Experience:
- Doctorate in music
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Doctorate in music performance. - Experience teaching music in an institution of higher education. - Experience as a symphonic trombonist. - Experience as a soloist in reviewed recitals or with symphony orchestras/bands. - Experience in a military service band.
